Three Seven Dot Six

Friday, Saturday
Three seven dot six
The number would not go down
Sunday, Monday,
the Devil would not leave me!
Tuesday, Wednesday,
It pinched my ears,
clouded my mind,
emptied my bowels
and made my spine
grow cumbersome.

Nightmares are worst
when sleep cannot be embraced
the wind in my mouth would not stop
why did the Day seem long and weary?

Alas!

Thursday came
and there was
a glimmer of sunlight
in the Shadow that was passing
I woke with the number
three six dot nine
with coughs and phlegm
of yesterdays
Still,
I rejoice and look forward to
a decent bowl of porridge
replacing my daily meals
of just flour and milk.

Under the dim spotlight, magic was created

Writing class today wasn't just any other ordinary class that I usually had.  A moment to remember was conceived for me, for I had my very first poem recital in the morning under a dim spotlight with an accompaniment of our fellow classmate, Fawzan's melancholic and schmaltzy Final Fantasy music in Makmal Bahasa 2 (Not to forget, all recitals were recorded by our teacher as well). Though I recited my poem with total awkwardness in front of everybody, deep inside I was thrilled and grateful that we were given the opportunity to do something memorable, novel and fun like this. And the best part was that everybody had his or her turn to come up and brave the stage with whatever piece they had on them. As audience and judges to all repertoires save our own, we witnessed that every poem turned out unique and stood out on its own. Nothing compares to one's own individuality that reflected so evidently in their work of art. It was a beautiful sight to appreciate and a memory to cherish among friends who had our shares of laughs and silly moments together.

So here's a little shoutout to our English teacher: Thank you Miss Tasnim! That was fun. :D

And here's also the poem to be shared with others and to be kept in case my hard copy goes missing:

She was a white cloth
that knew no colors
no dainty shoes
no floral dresses
A Sphinx she was
who asked too many questions
but often returned
with empty plates.

She took baby steps
to find that life
wasn't just rubber strings or
batu serembans
but a sunrise to
pens, papers and
older women who
provided the music.

Learning is so fun :P

C-O-L-O-R

What’s in a color that describes you or could be the very thing that makes you you?

It’s a question of subjectivity that makes one opinion differ from another. Colors could be either a reflection of our personalities based on personal opinions on what color we think we are, a general widely acceptable view of emotions that represent a specific color on its own or based on researches from so-called experts and professionals.

First of all, before I identify myself with a color, allow me to share some two cents worth of myself with you. I’d dare say that I may very well be more of an introvert in the beginning. I am a person whom you can find to be an amiable friend only if you get to know me more in the long run. Despite that, I like to make it a point to smile and greet friends as often as I can. I enjoy having girly talks with the girls and friendly jokes with the guys.

Apart from that, I love to establish a daily routine for myself. I love jogging or playing badminton in the evenings, studying at night, reading a good book before I go to bed and enjoy conversations with a group of friends during the weekend.

Now, what color do I think I am?

Light Baby Blue could very well be my color, perhaps because I don’t talk much and sometimes feel conscious about what I say.

But! I’m Pink when I’m really hyper, and also simply because I like glittery pink and purple.

I’m Yellow when the sun comes and brightens my gray life after a spell of rains and worrisome strains of Matters of Life.

And I’m Gray when I have writer’s block or when I lose direction and confused. L

Having said all that, I still am unable to tell which color suits me most nevertheless. Gray-ing now…

So what say you, my friends? Which color do you think I am?

Inception

Hmmm....This isn't the first I wrote a blog. This certainly isn't the first I wrote on Blogger either.

But... it's the first post of a new blog after a loooong stretch of hiatus from blogging. Whee! So...

Hehe... I'm excited yet nervous... for my previous blogs were written anonymously so forgive me if I get ahead of myself in my writings sometimes.

:D
